Soon-to-be player

Hello, I don't have SWG yet but I will have it in early February. I already know that I want to build a Wookiee character, and after reading a large portion of this website I am dieing to be a part of the Clan of the Wroshyr. The Wookiee has always been my favorite race in Star Wars, and I have always sympathized with their cause. After reading a few books about how the Empire enslaved the Wookiees, I am even more eager than ever to assist the reconstruction of the great civilization on Kashyyyk. I plan to submit an application to join the clan once I become accustomed to the game. I plan to become a master weaponsmith, and I would appreciate any feedback as to whether or not I could help the clan through that facet. If not, what would be the best way I could assist the clan? Thanks in advance for any feedback I get.

Hi there and well met, i'm Dio (Diosynaakka ingame) and we welcome you to SWG. Yes please fill out an application once you get your game rocking. Lemme introduce you to our council here.

Anishor - Sage of War
Bewchy - Village Sage
Gry - Sage of Freedom (He's the one you'll talk with, our recruiter)
Our Sage of Diplomacy is currently being filled.

As far as your trade/profession goes, just keep reading the forums at Sony's website (google star wars galaxies). The crafting in this game is very detailed and can be very time consuming. There has been some huge changes to it, some discouraging, but not discouraging to the tradesman that wants to make a name for him/herself.

If you have any questions about the clan, PM me, some of the information we tend to keep off the public channels, but with my discretion i'll answer what I can.

Thanks! And soon-to-be-welcome to SWG!

Stay Cool,
Dio

AIM is Diosynakka

Well I was looking around and I decided that I will become a pilot instead of a weaponsmith. My dream is to fly an ARC 170 Starfighter, and it would be awesome if someone could let me know how I can accomplish this. I assume I need to start as a Rebel Pilot, but if anyone has an idea of what I would need to do to get this particular craft, I would forever be in your debt!

You can actually be both pilot and another ground profession. So you could be both weaponsmith AND pilot...

To fly an ARC you just need to do a pretty easy quest.

Greetings Archabyakk!

I am close to finalizing my profession decision; I know that I want to become a Rebel Pilot, and either a shipwright or a weaponsmith. I was just wondering, how many skill points does a player get to spend total? I have read that to become a master of any of the elite crafting professions, it takes 92 skill points, and am wondering how many points I will be able to devote to my piloting?

There are no such thing as skill points anymore. You just progress through the chosen profession. Along with your main profession, you can take pilot and politician as free professions.

Yeah, none of the supplimentary web-sites for SWG have been updated well. A lot of the reflect the old system. The main SWG support sites I use(d) are:

http://www.atombender.de/swgwiki/index.php/Homepage

http://swg.warcry.com/

http://swg.allakhazam.com/

http://swg.stratics.com/

Like I said tho, not many have been 100% updated. At most, I have seen about 35% updated. Guess a lot of reporters/players that edited these bailed. I am an editor on the wiki one, but don't have much time to work on it now-a-days with school.

Suppose I try the ten day trial of SWG. When I get the real game, will I be able to continue the character that I start in the trial?

Well I just tried it last night, and it wasn't really worth my time. It takes you to this space station and you do a few chores, but I finished them all in about an hour. After that, you have the option to leave the station, but you need to have the full game in order to do that. Oh well, it looks like i'll hafto wait till February.

We will.

Just trust me, the bar for "annoying" is set pretty high at the moment.
